Airsoft Equipment Collection

Here’s a quick page of what I have for airsoft… The list is getting quite long…

Guns

Quick look at all the guns I have…

Kalash AK74S

My new main weapon – complete with real steel plum handguards and a Dboys brown pistol grip, this AK is my mainstay weapon and now looks identical to the plum handguard AK’s seen in service at various points.

HPIM1274This has recently been upgraded to fit a new spring in (as the old one dropped from around 300fps down to 220fps) and at the same time, I swapped the battery connectors over to deans connectors (as they offer better connectivity than the Tamiya connectors) and also I put a MOSFET in. Only a cheap one from RSOV (this one) but it’ll nice to see how much difference it makes.

Kalash AK74SU

A lovely little weapon  that I purchased for CQB/Urban games where the Scorpion doesn’t have the range to compete with everyone else.

TM Scorpion – “Sting”

One of my favourite weapons in airsoft. It’s small and compact with a good rate of fire. It brings a smile to my face every time I use it.

IMGP0693

The pictured setup is not a regular event but was used to test out the old version of the TM tracer unit. However I usually use this with a drum mag as the lo cap mags price me out of using them (£20 for a 50 round mag or £25 for a 330 round mag?!)

I used this in a night game at the GZ 2009 weekender where it performed admirably. I have a cheapsoft tracer unit for it which worked perfectly. And at the distances that we were engaging over at night, this gun was ideal.

DE Custom USP Match

I have a disliking for gas pistol. Mainly because the two that I’ve had have been second hand and have given me no end of trouble with mag leaks and generally being a pain. Eventually I wanted a pistol so I could take part in AMS (Airsoft Match Shooting) games our team sometimes ran at Spectre Urban. So I went back to my first love, the USP. My first gas pistol was a USP NBB pistol and while I liked the shape, the feel and the pointability, I didn’t like the gas.

Anyhow, I customised it slightly. As the picture shows.

IMGP0745

The article on it can be seen here.

It’s similar to the USP in Half Life 2 which was the effect I was after.

Well this gun has passed on but I bought myself another one and did exactly the same paint job to it so it’s back in my arsenal.

Previous Guns

TM/CYMA AK74 – “Tanya”

This was originally a Tokyo Mauri AK47, bought well before the modern AK74′s came out, even the clones. However, after some thought, I really wanted a 74 rather than the ’47 so I ended up buying the shell of a CYMA Ak74 and transplanted the TM internals into it. The upside of the VCR bill means spare parts are easier to come by as the ASCUK forum no longer allows full RIF sales but they will happily allow parts to be sold.

IMGP0839

Custom RPK 74

Custom built RPK 74 using a JG Dragunov as a base. Uses an Element metal body and a Chinese wood kit.

IMGP0710

At the minute I only have a smallish custom battery for it so it cant really last a full days gaming, depending on how I use it.

Last game I attended the bipod fell apart and the was a noticeable wobble to the stock. This I put down to cheap wood. It’s also a bit to long for how I like to play mainly and it seems everytime I take it out for a game, I get stuck attacking and I don’t get to use it in a defensive position which is what I really want to do!

JG Dragunov

This became my RPK due to various problems whilst using it – namely people didn’t set to feel the shots on semi auto because I was using it as a DMR but didn’t disable the full auto function so it wasn’t allowed to fire any higher than 328fps (or 350 depending on the site rules)

EPSN0058

DE UMP

Since  STAR and G+G released the UMP, I wanted one. However it took until the cheapsoft ones were avaliable before I could get one.

TM G36C Lasgun Conversion

Part of my warhammer sci-fi loadout required the use of a converted G36 into a lasgun.

IMGP0663

ACM MP40

A very nice little sub machine gun but I couldn’t justify getting a loadout to go with it and when someone made me an offer to buy it, I thought I might as well sell it.

IMGP0669

TM Beretta M93R

TM MP5K

An old school favourite – bought for CQB games but I moved onto Russian kit and this was sold to help fund an AK. Would have been replaced with the Scorpion had I still got it.

EPSN0895

Camo

Ok, so I have a fair amount of camo as well, almost all (unsurprisingly as the website name may imply!) of it being Russian or Soviet camoflague.

Flora Pattern

The  issued Russian uniform.

HPIM1221

Mine has the badges of the Russian MVD on left arm and chest, along with my blood type patch (which IS correct). The MVD are the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. (MVD). The badge on my right arm is for the Russian Strategic Missile Forces at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. When I was looking for badges, I wanted to put together a guard for the Russian strategic missile forces as they played a big part in the Cold War and I reckoned this would make a good imprerssion – however it’s not technically correct as I cant find out if the Russian Strategic Missile forces were ever part of the MVD or not.
